Re: node: Liberals support social and scientific causes opposed

Liberals also support, regulation for clean drinking water, and regulation of discrimination based on sex, age or racial bias.

As a liberal, I propose that every gift of creative and life giving thought be used for the benefit of all without concern for cost that is spread all across the economic population.

Re: node: Separation of church and state protects citizens from

As a liberal, I propose that the separation of church and state be abolished along with all forms of religious affiliation, religious institutions of worship and learning, and any organization that bases its legitimacy on the existence of a distant creator being and notions of salvation based on the death of an itinerant rabbi who was executed by the Roman state at the request of the Jerusalem temple authority.

Re: node: Liberals believe government should never act on the ba

Liberals believe government should never act to promote or hinder sectarian faith. This is the heart of the separation of church and state - not that legislators or government functionaries should not act on the basis of their faiths but that the government may not use it's resources to advance the position or views of any one religious group (or anti religious group for that matter).

I think we're just dealing with Professor Stone's lawyerly precision, but faith as a concept is not restricted to the metaphysical realm
