With the purchase of small, independent farms by large conglmerates and corporations, most subsidies go to large corporations.

According to the Environmental Working Group's Farm Subsidy Database:

"From 1995 to 2005, the top 10 percent of recipients were paid 73 percent of all USDA subsidies."

The top 20% received 88%
