Parent Node: Node supports parent assertion  WMD's taken out
Node Text: Trivial amounts of old weapons were found

The WMDs found in Iraq post-invasion were trivial in amount, and in almost all cases (if not all) pre-dated the 1991 Gulf War in terms of age.

In addressing the U.N. Security Council on February 5, 2003, however, to make the WMD case for the invasion of Iraq, Colin Powell made claims about significant amounts of chemical and biological weapons. For example:

"Our conservative estimate is that Iraq today has a stockpile of between 100 and 500 tons of chemical weapons agent."
