Node Text: Electoral College overrepresents smaller states

The U.S. Constitution grants each state two Senators and at least one Representative. Electors are assigned to states based on that sum of Senators and Representatives.

Each state, then, has a minimum of three electors, regardless of population size. This translates into smaller states having an Electoral College impact of two to four times their population size as compared to larger states.
